Bogie wheel drawing for the Brighton Atlantic

The finished product.

I have been actively involved in steam preservation for the last 15 years covering the following areas:

  • Draughtsman
  • Machinist
  • Fitter
  • Engineer .

Working on projects for:

I am currently involved in producing drawings for the Bluebell Railway Atlantic Group, who are constructing a LB&SCR Marsh H2 Atlantic.

Engineering Background

I was the Principal Engineer for a company making industrial instrumentation for the measurement of pressure, level, flow, density and viscosity. These instruments being used in a large variety of industries including military and nuclear.

As part of this work I have become familiar with welding and NDT procedures as well as with The Pressure Equipment Directive. I produced the calculations and technical files for all the products to which that Directive was applicable.

I also produced a large number of drawings both for our products and for specialist test rigs and tooling.

Model Engineering

I have been an active model engineer for at least 38 years.
In this field I am a boiler inspector for my club and have built copper and steel boilers (with the exception of the welding as I am not coded). The latest boiler was to my own design and was insurance company approved.
